How to contact Blogger Support
Update 30 March 2008: This should have come earlier, but so short of time. Now you can only contact Blogger support for account and TOS (Terms of Service) issues via Blogger Support Contact Form. If you are not already signed into Blogger, you may have to sign in before you get to the Contact form.. All other requests for support should be directed to Google Blogger Help group. I am also providing support at Blogger General Discussions.
Update 5 February 2008: I often add remark this is an old post and may need updating or replacement when giving link to this post, but read the feedback I got just moment ago:
"i've followed your instructions using your guide on how to contact blogger and i got my deleted blogs back in less than 24hours!"
Update 13 December 2007: The goal post keeps shifting and I don't know if I can keep up, but this post How to get deleted blog back. It may say deleted blog, but even if your problem is not a deleted blog, the post may still help you. The blogger for whom the above post was made reported back she got her blog together with 700+ post back!!!!
Update 8 July 2007: I put this update at the top here because this is a long post and have been edited many times as Blogger changes the way they can be contacted. You may also be interested in this shorter post Problems in seeing your blog in the Dashboard, can't sign in, etc. (click BACK to come back to this page)
Update 17 May 2007: Blogger Support is difficult to get but not impossible as I mentioned to one blog reader who asked for help, and to which I referred her to this post and also to What to do when you have problems signing in, seeing your blog in the Dashboard, etc. (click BACK button to get back to this post). I suggested she try her best to contact Blogger Support. Today, she commented in this post: Business should ditch Yellow Pages and start a blog (click BACK button to get back to this page). To save you the trouble of surfing over there, I paste here here comment:
"Dear Peter. Thanks so much for all your help, tips , and tricks. Blogger support DID reply to my report and they were very prompt. My problem has resolved somewhat. Thanks so much again."
UPDATE 26 October 2006: Blogger Support has made themself very hard to contact now, probably because of the roll out of Blogger Beta. Recently, I needed help from Blogger support myself and followed my own advice in this post, that is try to help myself first by going searching through the Help section and posting my problem to Blogger Help group, etc. I didn't get a response from Blogger Help group and I was taken on a merry-go-round in Blogger Help section, and finally ended up in a suggestion form with a message that I will not get a reply. I did two things - contact a person (whom I cannot reveal to protect his privacy) and I emailed support@blogger.com. I did get quite a quick response, and not only that, it helped solve my problem. So I can add to my positive experiences with Blogger support described at the bottom of the post. I don't know what response you will get, but if you do get an automated email that did not help, make sure you reply to that email.
Update 5 June 2007: Just tried the contact form at Blogger Support Form and after being taken to a few pages, did finally ended up in an actual contact form. However, as I was just trying it out, I didn't fill up the form and wouldn't know what will be the result of filling it out and submitting it. When you are really in trouble, I am sure you will take the time to do that.
Other links you can try (copy and paste into your browser address bar (too lazy to make them into clickable links). Hopefully you will do that in a new tab or window so you remain on this page). I have to put them in a scroll box, otherwise my sidebar will slide to the bottom of the page:
http://help.blogger.com/?page=contact
http://www.blogger.com/problem.g
http://help.blogger.com/?page=troubleshooter.cs&contact_type=cantpublish
http://help.blogger.com/?page=troubleshooter.cs&problem=template_display&contact_type=bug_with_blogger_beta&Submit=Submit
http://help.blogger.com/?page=troubleshooter.cs&problem=&contact_type=bug_with_blogger_beta&Submit=Subm
(You will likely end in a contact form with a message thay you will not get a reply)
(P.S. The link to the contact form is near the bottom of the post under "Write Blogger Support" (in red) but to be fair to Blogger support, do read through the rest of the post before you click on that link).
Blogger support makes their contact form or email difficult to find as they want support seekers to first use their HELP (close new window to get back to this page) section. You should also try searching through, or posting your problem to the Blogger Help Google group (close new window to get back to this page). Look also into Blogger Buzz (close new window to get back to this page) and Blogger Status (close new window to get back to this page) and Known Issues in Blogger Beta (close new window to get back to this page) to make sure it is not a known issue that can be solved on your own.
This is fair and you should first do that. But if you can't find the help you need, here is the link to their contact form: Write Blogger Support (close new window to get back to this page).
You can also email them at this address, support@blogger.com, but the best way is to use the "Write Blogger Support" link given above, as you will be given a reference number for additional contacts. You will invariably receive an automated email. Do make sure to replay to that email.
Many have complained of the unresponsive Blogger support, but here are two accounts of people who have received timely help from them:
I have got an email from a reader saying that he accidentally deleted his blog. After contacting Blogger support, and after a series of email, he has got his blog undeleted!!!! So folks, there is hope.
This is my own personal experience. Recently, I needed to have the word verification for POSTING (not for comments) removed to enable me to publish by email. I contacted Blogger Support via that contact form obtained by clicking the "Write Blogger Support" link above. As usual, I received a robot email. I responded to the email immediately, explaining that their email didn't help and explained my problem in detail. I got the word verification removed WITHIN 24 HOURS!!
Also, if you have a suggestion to make to Blogger, you can do so via this contact form: BLOGGER WISHLIST (close new window to get back to this page).

Peter, thanks for comming to our rescue again. I have to admit, I hear alot of complaints but I am still very happy with Blogger, I can post when I want to and my photo's load.

To Hannelie,
Glad you are like me, generally happy with what Blogger is providing. However, I suppose everyone's situation is different, and everyone's toleration to irritation is different. Some are irritated by the most minor irritation. See the great free service provided by Yahoo, but look at the no. of Yahoo haters out there.

I lost six months of posts recently when the switch to Blogger Beta screwed up tremendously. Once I found the "Talk to Us" link, I found Blogger quite responsive. They got everything back up and running pretty quickly.
I'm not going to try the switch again until it's a little less beta, though I'm looking forward to category functionality.

Faraz, glad to hear you got your problem fixed. So, Blogger support do respond to bloggers' problems. I suppose they are doing the best they can given the huge user base they have to service.

I am a member of two team blogs. The admins, and Is ay admins cause there are several, appear to have abandoned them, and I wish to remove myself; none of the admins have replied, and naturally these things are cluttering my dashboard. I've left a message on both blogs asking to be removed and no go. It is very annoying and frustrating. It would be good if blogger com provided this option when someone like myself for instance, is in this position. In the meantime , what can I do?
thank you.
I checked blogger beta, and noticed the dasboard has blogger buzz right under it. I dont like the look, and really hope I don't have to move to blogger beta. It wouldbe completely annoying.

Hi Clifford,
Sorry to hear about your problem in removing yourself from a non-active blog. Looks like the only people who can do that are the administrators (especially), and failing that, perhaps Blogger support. It depend on how badly you want yourself removed. If badly enough, you will continue to badger the people who can help you.

Hi, I found this blog through Google. It was a great tip which I didn't know of. I was searching on the main blogger site for a way to contact a human being via email but didn't managed to. However, i don't seem to be getting responses based on what they claim. My site has been tagged as blogspam by their auto bot detection algorithim and the notice came with the link to contact them to have my blog unlocked. I have already done so. The notice claims that it will happen in 24 hours and well, they didn't live up to that. I understand that this is a free service which we're using, but I think it's still not professional to underdeliver. Why make such a statement in the first place? I was rather impressed at the signup and blog creation, but this support issue is really chaning my views on Blogger.

My blog, Conversations with Laura Link has been compromised. A spammer has figured out a way to make original posts, not comments, to my blog. I've deleted the posts. I needed your website to discover the email address to contact blogger about this, and I have asked blogger for an explanation and proof that this hole has been researched and fixed. How many blogger blogs have been compromised in this way?

Hi Are Carlsen,
Thanks for letting us know. As can be seen by some comments, readers have been directed to the actual contact form. However, they must have found that bloggers are finding the contact form via posts like this one, without taking the trouble of searching through files, and looks like they don't like it. They have changed the form and location of the contact form and I have found it again. But I think, to be fair to Blogger support, I am just going to redo/update/edit to let readers know how to use the Help files, which they will need to do before getting the link to the form. I suppose as a service to my readers, I can just ask them if they really have tried and failed, to email me for the new link for the contact form.

Hi,
Why doesn't blogger turn a URL into a link automatically? Why don't they have an EDIT button visible at all times? Why can't Blogger have at least the usability of forum software like vBulletin and PHPBB? I find Blogger incredibly unusable. I just don't get it. Maybe I've overlooked something, but I think I'll stick with Squarespace for now. Do the Blogger guys have a usability person test this stuff? Yikes. Sorry for the rant, but I don't think Blogger is up to Google standards. Paul
1/23/2007
Peter Chen said...
Hi Paul,
Most people find Blogger very user friendly once they get used to it. Regarding links, I think what you are referring to is why Blogger doesn't make a URL like http://dummies-guide-to-google-blogger.blogspot.com automatically a clickable hyperlink. Actually, to make a clickable link with Blogger is very easy, and in fact is more useful than automatically turning a URL clickable, especially from the point of view of search engine friendliness. In the Blogger post editor, there is a toolbar in which there is a link icon. To make some phrase or description clickable, all one has to do is to highlight the phrase or description, click the link icon, and a pop-up will open with a box for you to type in or paste the URL and the phrase or description will become clickable. It is described (together with screenshot to make it easy to follow in my online book (in progress) Dummies Guide to Google Blogger. There is a chapter "Publishing a post" in which how this is done (somewhere in the middle of the post I think) where the process is described.

I had a blog for about a year but deleted it because I couldn't keep up with it. I thought deleting it meant deleting it forever and ever.
Then I realized months later someone got access to it and relaunched it, posting weird items and/or spam, and now it has been retitled with my name prominently displayed. I've tried contact blogger support, but can't get help.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have advice? At the very least, I would like to get control of the blog back and then I can just keep it dormant. I don't want someone to mistake this poster for me.

7/27/2007

Hi Mike,
I think you can only use password protection if you use New Blogger custom domain, host the blog on your own and use FTP to publish your post. In this case, you will only be able to use the old classic template and a lot of the New Blogger features will not be available to you.
The other option you may want to consider is to make your blog private and use How to enable vistors to private New Blogger blogs to request for invitation which is not exactly as using password protection but is something similar.

These blogs were deleted in one go, without any notice or warning. All my blogs are gone now. When I try to access these blogs, I get Blogger: 404 error.
I have already written five mails to blogger support. No reply at all. Its been more than two weeks.

I have book reviews and product reviews that are due to be posted now
and I need access to my blog. I need to post!
This is frustrating to say the least.
Trying to contact blogger support is fruitless, I get generated
emails
that have nothing to do with my locked out status. Trying to find a
human to talk to about it is basically non-existent. I haven't found
a way to do that.
I sent an email to support@blogger.com I got an automated reply that had nothing to do with my request. I tried replying to the email. It bounced back.
I've posted on the forums and still nothing.
This is ridiculous! They should have someone to contact when need be. The help link just takes you in circles and never gets you where you need to go if you're locked out by a bot.
This is absolutely frustrating!

Hi Laura,
My deepest sympathies, especially if you are in a hurry. Blogger and chosen, fortunately or unfortunately, to provide a free service. They may get benefits in other ways, but not much financial returns. This normally means a limited support team, and I believe with the huge amount of Blogger blogs, they have their hands full. However, they do try to do their part by setting up Google Blogger Help group, by the help pages, and if you managed to get through them, their stretched support team. I have been officially told that support [at] blogger [dot] com is no longer in use and if this post have not been updated, I will need to do that. But I have been updating and there is a link at How to get deleted blog back which was in an update in this post, and in that post, there is a link to the support form.
I have had a few blogs blocked, some need word verification (captcha) to be completed before you publish, one cannot publish at all, and long ago, the whole account was not accessible. Two cases were quite recent, and clicking on that ? icon and completing the word verification was sufficient to solve the problem, but cannot remember how long it took, but it was restored.
If you have tried your best, I am afraid there is nothing else but to be patient (please don't scold me for that), and if I get any new information, I hope to keep you updated.

Hi Admin,
My sympathies. First, do you think your blogs may have violated Bloger TOS? There have been reports of bloggers using automated software to publish blog contents which are of no value, and if Blogger found these, the blogs are deleted. If yours does not belong to these categories, you should try to contact Blogger support as outlined in this post or try trick to contact Blogger support. If the blogs fit the description above, this will not help you get your blogs back.

If this is troubling you, I would suggest you set comments for moderation, and if you add an email address to be notified of comments waiting for moderation, but don't get some of them, at least you can see them in the Dashboard.

Dear Peter,
Your site is great, I was able to at least send an email to the blogger support people. It was really impossible! I just kept going in circles.
In general, I am very happy with blogger, it's way better than communities such as my space and facebook because its simple and you can do what you want with the design and lots of other features. (I tried playing around with these sites while trying to find out how to undelete my blog...they are just not the same).
My main complaint has been trying to contact blogger to get them to retrieve my blog, if possible.
So here's to hoping I can get my deleted blog back! I have been writing since 2004 on blogger. There are a lot of memories.
Oh also, please do not stop this blog. It helped.

Peter, this is an absolutely wonderful site. Thank you for helping so many people. I wish I would have found this site before I accidentally deleted my entire blog. I have begun the merry go round process as of yesterday...so far to no avail. I hope I am as lucky as Rachel and my blog is retrieved and in somewhat of a timely manner. My blog is my lively hood..and well this is just terrible.
If there are any updates to contacting blogger I would appreciate that. I have filled out countless forms via various links throughout the blogger help sections etc. I've also emailed support@. I have yet to be acknowledged...Just keep at it I guess.

This is a known problem and I believe Blogger is working on it. Nothing much can be done except wait.
